Can you remove a tattoo completely with a laser?
The Picosure laser used for tattoo removal can absolutely reduce the appearance of unwanted tattoos. Laser tattoo removal is the safest and most effective procedure to remove unwanted tattoos, however you may need to receive several sessions to achieve the removal of your preference.
How many sessions will it take to remove my tattoo?
During your first consultation, our specialist can give you a better estimate of the number of sessions you may need to reduce or remove the appearance of your tattoo, but most tattoos can be heavily reduced in five to eight sessions. For older and more faded tattoos, it may take less sessions.
Is tattoo removal painful?
Yes, laser tattoo removal is painful. Depending on your pain tolerance some slight discomfort is to be expected. The pain from tattoo removal is similar to a severe sunburn and the laser pulses are comparable to a hot rubber band snapping against your skin. While not desirable, it is in fact tolerable.
What will my skin look like after tattoo removal?
Your skin will likely experience frosting in the area where your treatment took place. The treated area may have a pale or pink appearance as the scab separates from the skin. Complete healing usually takes about 6 to 8 weeks. After healing, you should notice your tattoo will appear slightly faded and your skin will return back to normal.
How often do I come for treatments?
Treatments are done 8 weeks apart to achieve best results.
